Ways we can help

Wild about words

We’re wild about words (and about your kid)

At Wild About Words, we believe every child communicates - through speech, gestures, sounds, devices, or something entirely their own. However your child finds their words, it counts. And they don't need to be "fixed" to be worthy of support.

We're here to understand your child, partner with your family, and make therapy feel less like hard work and more like play.

Because the best progress? It happens when kids feel safe, seen, and genuinely having fun.

  • Before strategies or goals we get to know your child. What lights them up, what helps them feel safe, what makes them tick. Therapy built on trust works better. Full stop.

  • You know your child better than anyone. Our job is to give you the tools, confidence, and support to carry the work beyond our sessions — so progress happens in real life, not just in the therapy room.

  • We don’t see your child as a problem to solve. We see a whole person with their own way of experiencing the world and we’re here to support that, not change it.

  • Words, AAC devices, signs, gestures every form of communication counts here. We meet children exactly where they are.

What we do differently…

Your child has something wild and wonderful to say.

Hi I’m Ami-Lee

The speech language therapist behind Wild About Words. Every child I work with is different and I think that's the best part of this job.

My sessions are child-led, strengths-based, and built around genuine connection, because kids make their biggest leaps when they feel truly safe and seen.

Wild About Words exists for families just as much as it exists for children. This journey can feel overwhelming, but you don't have to figure it out alone. That's exactly what I'm here for.

Our son looks forward to every session and never wants them to end, which speaks volumes about the positive environment she creates. We are incredibly grateful for Ami”

    - Parent

  • “Ami-Lee has been instrumental in our son's progress since starting speech therapy at the end of 2024. She is incredibly patient and understanding  and was able to create a strong bond with our son in a short period of time. She has such a genuine interest in doing whatever she can to help not only the child but offering us parents ongoing coaching and support with whatever issues we’ve been experiencing while parenting a non verbal autistic/AuDHD child. She is an amazing human being constantly advocating for her clients and trying her best to educate everyone on neurodiversity so that one day the world will be more accepting of our children. We always try to do our best and give our best to our children and without a doubt, Ami is the definition of the best, you will never regret joining her client list and getting to experience the amazing aura she brings into your lives too. Thank you for all you do Ami-Lee and for your big heart ❤️”
